Once upon a time, the Scale House was owned by the former Olivia Canning Factory, one of the area's most important employers, playing a major role in Olivia's agricultural economy.

 

Years later, in the early 2000's, after the factory had closed down and sat vacant, Ben's family purchased and utilized the space for their own business ventures. In 2015 when retirement came knocking for Ben's parents, the ample amount of space was no longer required. The canning factory and Scale House were subsequently sold.

 

The factory was purchased by another seed company new to town and the Scale House was purchased by Ben's Uncle Charlie and Aunt Toni. A Masonry Contractor/Concrete Finisher and Wellness Studio Designer/Intuitive respectively, both Charlie and Toni built and designed the layout and functionality of the Scale House as it is today.

Upon the Scale House going up for sale in 2026, Ben and I saw a space built with love, hard work, and sacrifice. We both admired the handy work and precision both Charlie and Toni's talents made the Scale House to be and decided to throw our hats in the ring to share the beauty of what their vision of tiny house living is with others. We hope you enjoy the family history that comes with the Scale House, but also the craftsmanship, it truly is unique and we can't wait to host you!
